SEA URCHIN EXCURSION
Kelp forests provide essential habitat and food for countless marine species. But with the sharp rise in purple sea urchin populations, these vital ecosystems are being wiped out.
As sea urchins multiply unchecked, they overgraze the kelp, transforming lush kelp beds into barren seascapes. This dramatic shift not only reduces biodiversity but also threatens the health of the entire coastal ecosystem.
This course examines the threat of sea urchins to the Sonoma Coast, and provides techniques on how humans can partake on a hands-on fight against these spiny, yet incredibly delicious, creatures.
Kindly note, a day permit ($20) or seasonal license MUST be obtained for this class. Please visit the California Department of Fish and Wildlife website to acquire one online or at a location near you.

WILD MUSHROOM FORAY
This hands on experience is only available for small groups of up to 8 people.

Our guided mushroom walks are on the Sonoma Coast about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco. All details you need including packing list, meet-up location, and more will be sent once your booking is confirmed.
